Sister Rosetta Tharpe

The weather 's turning cold this morning and listening to Sister Rosetta Tharpe singing and playing her guitar warmed me a bit... Here's 22 tracks of great gospel singing and great guitar playing by the Sister.

thank you very much.

I don't know much about gospel, a friend recommanded Sallie Martin
do you have any of her records?

Sorry, i don't think i have one record by her but i have a few anthologies of gospel where she may appear. There are many styles and kinds of gospel music and maybe i'll post more about this in the future. Thanks

well thank you any way, do you have any other gospel singer of that style you like.

I really like blues and gospel singers who accompany themselves on the guitar, like Reverend Gary Davis, Blind Willie Johnson, this kind of stuff but i also enjoy "pure" gospel singing too...

I didn't know what gospel is until i found the site "crossroad club 27" they have all sorts of popular and not so popular music and some obscure gospel like reverend G M Gates and reverend Emmett Dickinson that sounds more like a sermon and are hard to listen to at first.
About gospel blues i know even less. Mister "Broke Down Engine" posted Gray Davis and Willie Johnson and another musicians named Pearly Brown. I also heared on collection Ed Bell and Arvella Gray I think they play gospel blues but I don't know where can I buy this music. Maybe you have it?
